Purpose

The purpose of this activity is to update local and regional primary care providers and members of the Department of Medicine in key advances in Internal Medicine and its subspecialties in the preceding year; fulfill the objectives for the 2017 Central Region Adult Clinical Learning Days; and update attendees in key issues related to maintenance of certification, and key changes in federal health policies.​

Objectives​

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify key advances in 2016-2017 in internal medicine and its subspecialties relevant to real-life clinical management of patients and integrate them into practice.
  • Explain the changes in the current approach for maintenance of certification, especially under the American Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Discuss key changes in federal healthcare legislation and policy, and understand the impact of these changes on the healthcare system and the medical professions.

Target Audience

Intermountain and community providers interested in internal medicine and its subspecialties, and any regional primary care providers are invited to attend. All registered nurses and pharmacists who provide care to patients in the setting of primary care, or internal medicine and its subspecialties are also invited.
